X3 Log was originally sold as a one-time purchase via the app stores, but it has recurring costs, thus unsustainable in the long run.
After a few years without updates, X3 Log was kicked out of the Apple and Google App Stores. I received many requests to bring the project back to life, so I launched an Indiegogo campaign to see if people would support a subscription based model. The campaign was successful and thus, V3ME was born.
The choice to launch a brand new app, rather than rebuilding X3 Log allowed keeping X3 Log in its old state for a few more years, for folks who had made the one-time purchase. We had a good run, but it's time to officially shut X3 Log down.
I know some of you are frustrated. I'm sorry. We've done our best to communicate the situation and extended the life of X3 Log as far as we felt comfortable with.
The good news is, if you choose to join V3ME, you'll be able to import your X3 Log data and pickup right where you left off. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Happy New Year!
Nick
What does that mean for X3 Log users?
At the end of today (Jan 10, 2026), the X3 Log servers will go offline and the app will no longer work.
If I switch to V3ME, can I import my data?
Yes, there's a simple import process that will import all your data from X3 Log. If you sign up for V3ME with the same credentials as X3 Log, you'll automatically be prompted to import. If not, you can navigate to the Profile page and you can initiate the import from there.
How can I install it on my phone?
Open V3ME (https://app.v3me.io) on your phone's native browser (Safari or Chrome). Click the 'Share' icon and then click the 'Add to Home Screen' icon. That will save the app to your device and it will function pretty darn close to a native app.
Will there be a native app?
I've received this question over and over, so I'm going to look into building out a native app again. No definitive timeline, but it's on my radar.
